On November 22, 2008 OREIA again hosted home inspectors at its final education seminar of the year. OREIA's fourth seminar of the year, like our earlier 2008 programs, provided Oregon Certified Home Inspectors the opportunity to earn 6 credit hours toward their Oregon re-certification.

Attendees were treated to programs by Michael Houghton of Concrete Lifting Solutions, and Steve Gemmel owner of Earth Quake Tech, and their associates. Their presentations were complimentary, with Michael covering techniques of lifting and leveling foundations and slabs while Steve enlightened us about the art of securing older structures for seismic stability.

After lunch, Nicholas Baldwin-Sayre, attorney with the law firm of Cosgrave Vergeer Kester, LLP made an encore appearance, once again providing insight into good inspection contracts and customer relations. Nick has considerable experience working with home inspectors and has been a regular presenter at OREIA seminars over the past several years.

These outstanding speakers are representative of the high quality presenters OREIA has become known for in providing continuing education opportunities to those in the home inspection profession. Watch OREIA's web site for information about and scheduling of our 2009 seminars.
